Course description

The course covers a structured approach for creating data models in the conceptual schema and the transition to the database schema.

The model is visualized as an entity relationship model (ERM). Concepts such as e.g. various notations, primary and foreign keys and normalization are covered in detail. The course covers various normal forms and processes for normalization and denormalization of data models.
Structured entity relationship modeling (SERM) will also be discussed on top of ER modeling.

Learn about data modeling and how to use it in practice in this course. Model business scenarios in tutorials led by an experienced trainer and discover the potentials held by data modeling for your tasks.

Aims:
At the end of the course, you will be able to model and understand data models in the conceptual schema and database schema. You will be able to differentiate between normalized and denormalized data models and know the reasons behind the differences.
