The Hartz legislation has lead to a comprehensive reform at the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (Federal Employment Office) since 2003. Hundreds of processes needed to be adapted to meet the requirements of the new service concept. The fundamental change to the business process proved a challenge for the IT application landscape. The Bundesagentur für Arbeit rose successfully to the challenge with the project, ProIT. A UML-based business process model was created with Innovator Business to establish a common basis for the further development of IT.
