We want to use the MAAP to intensify our collaboration with department chairs for research work and to showcase MID as an attractive employer, with offices in Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Munich and Cologne.
MID provides public educational institutes with the technical modeling platform, Innovator, which they can use for their research, training and teaching needs. All academic licenses are free; this includes use of the hotline service and access to the Innovator Online Forum!
Use this opportunity to lay the foundations of an education with practical experience for your students. We will send you the necessary software.
You will receive a full-fledged network license for Innovator, the integrated modeling platform for business process and software engineering:
- Innovator Business for business process modeling
- Innovator Object for object-oriented analysis and design
- Innovator Function for structured analysis and design
- Innovator Data for data modeling
- Innovator Report for creating products which conform to V-Modell XT
All of these five Innovator editions offer a unique integrated consistency from business process modeling right through to implementation.
Innovator is available for the operating systems Windows, SUSE Linux and Solaris. Operation in a mixed operating system environment is also possible. You can put your models online on the Internet or Intranet using Innovator Web. You can generate licenses which are the responsibility of the student from your available license pool using the Innovator administration module. This enables flexible learning and working.
Both the classic function-oriented modeling with structured analysis and design (SA/SD) and modern object-oriented modeling with UML (Unified Modeling Language) are supported. You can also use data modeling as the basis for an entity relationship model (ERM) and a structured entity relationship model (SERM).
Innovator supports method-based and structured operation in software development, which is ideal not only for complex projects and large development teams, but also for educational purposes.
Innovator is already used in several technical colleges in information management, business studies, information technology and electrical engineering courses.
What MID Expects from Partners with Regard to MAAP?
- The department chair ensures that students gain new skills and knowledge through the possibilities available with MAAP. MID provides material tailored towards the specific teaching needs at the college.
- Information about working with MID when writing theses and carrying out assignments or about joining the MID after completion of studies to work in product development or consulting will be posted on e.g. a notice board.
- The department chair and MID convene once a year so that the chair can give feedback, compare notes and offer any input about improvements they may have.
